Excellent Vacuum

I did as much research as possible before buying this. I have not been disappointed.  My basement is carpeted - and I have long haired cats.  After vacuuming with my old machine I would go over the carpet with a sticky roller (like a lint brush), and it would be covered with fine cat hairs.  After I vacuum with this machine - nothing else comes up!
It is also pretty quiet  - my cats used to take to the hills when I turned on the old one. Now they sit and look at it. 
I find it pretty easy to tote around too. The handle is well-designed at the unit's center of gravity so it feels lighter than it is. 
Downsides are that not all of the attachments clip onto the machine so you have to go fetch them when needed - inconvenient.  And a couple of the attachments are a little awkward to put on and take off. 
But definitely worth it.  I have an upscale central vac in the rest of the house: my housekeeper prefers this! I really like the cord retractor too (a simple thing but nice).
I would recommend this to anyone. I found it somewhat pricey but am very glad I purchased it. I've owned it for maybe 6 or 7 months, so I cant tell yet about long-term reliability
