Hardwood floors or linoleum? You GOTTA get this baby!
Date of Review: Jun 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you have hardwood, linoleum or tile floors this stickvac is a Godsend.
Came across this little baby at Sears trying to find out how to spend a $75 gift certificate I got as a prize. Was going to get a lawn edger. I am SO glad I went with this!
We have a Hoover Wind Tunnel as our main vacuum. It is an effective cleaning tool, but a little clunky to pull out for a quick around the house pick-me-up when guests are coming or you are pressed for time.... or just too lazy! :) We currently have hardwood or sub floor over most of our house as we are under construction. Sheet rock dust is a constant annoyance.
So, anyway, I went home and did a little research on Epinions. I liked the specs and all of the reviews were very positive. I decided to go for it. Picked it up, put it together... very straight forward. Put it in a corner in my kitchen and let it charge overnight (looks very sleek in the corner...feel all rich and stuff!). In the morning while making breakfast I decided to give it a whirl around the kitchen. I could NOT believe how easy it GLIDED around the floor! The head pivots so smoothly you use it with almost no effort. It is very lightweight - maybe 5 pounds. I couldn't stop! I made my way to the bedroom and could NOT believe that the head not only pivots, but automatically stays flat when you vacuum under a bed! Slides right under there without having to hit a button or turn a lever or pull out attachments!! I'd love it for that alone!
The hand vac is very easy to remove and put back. The canister is very easy to empty and has two filters. It even has a "no contact" way to empty the canister if you have allergies. It is a little flip door to a hole in the canister that you can put the hose of your regular vacuum to to suck out the contents. If you have a bagged vacuum as your standard cleaner this is a great feature. If you also have a bagless, it would appear that it makes no difference.... except for me it does. My girlfriend cannot empty the dust canister because of allergies. She saves it for me. If she fills the canister she has to stop until I can empty it. She can now use the Pronto and empty it to the large cleaner if she needs to keep going! Doubt she will though because the Pronto does hold quite a bit.
I just can't say enough about this cleaner. If you have hardwood floors, tile or linoleum this cleaner is a dream come true. It is WELL worth the $99. Feels as durable as it looks.....go get it!
