Eddie Murphy's Delirious is the funniest stand-up comedy I've ever seen - period.

Delirious is a video of Eddie Murphy doing his stand-up comedy act in Washington D.C. in 1983. He was in his early 20s at the time. He is completely uninhibited. The running time is 67 minutes. That doesn't sound like much, but you would probably break a rib laughing if it was any longer!

I first saw Delirious about ten years ago. I've watched it a few times since. Obviously the first time was the best, but this act keeps me coming back for more.

Every fourth word out of his mouth is a swear word, so this tape is not for kids or anyone easily offended. What's impressive is that it would still be very funny without all the profanity. That said, I love the profanity. Trust me, you've never heard this much swearing in the course of an hour - and it's great!

Eddie Murphy makes fun of just about every social group, his family, and actors and musicians, but all in great style. This is what raw, uninhibited comedy is all about.

His 1987 follow-up Raw is funny too, but it can't compete with Delirious.

So where's the catch?
If you rent Delirious, you'll be watching a well worn tape that's been rented out far too many times!
If you want to buy the tape, you better have deep pockets, because it's been out of print for some time. It now sells used for close to $50!
It's not available on DVD.

You also have to watch what you say afterwards, because Eddie is definitely a bad influence...
