First of all, these machine are not cheap and I am not rich but I had to have something that actually worked. You can pay $200 for something that does absolutely nothing or you can pony up the big bucks for something that aggressively attacks and kills stuff. My only two complaints are the price and they should have more color selections.
This machine works great for killing all the bad stuff: mold, MRSA, allergens, bacteria, pet odors, etc. and all the other stuff my Ecoquest guy told me about and they have independent studies to prove it. All that stuff means nothing until you actually use it in your home. I would never have purchased this if I researched it first because of all the bad reviews everywhere. What's with that? The only reason I considered the Fresh Air is because my aunt has had one for over 5 years so it came highly recommended, plus her house always seems so fresh and so clean, clean, whenever I go over there. It has made a huge impact on my son's asthma, my allergies, and the house's dust factor and smell, which is significantly less.
ATTENTION-ATTENTION-ATTENTION-(Please Read) You should only buy this machine from a reputable dealer who is honest about the ozone factor. Ecoquest emits a small amount of ozone which gives it the killing power to eliminate all of the bad stuff. The flip side of this is that if you have the settings on too high, it could make you feel a little woozy. If that happens, then reduce the square footage settings and turn the fan down. I think this is why there are so many bad reviews out there ( and maybe failed dealers leaving bad reviews???)
What I really like about this machine is that it has an away mode (sanitize mode) that emits more ozone and right after you turn it on, it says to vacate the area. When my son's room (or a bathroom) gets a little funky I'll set in on the away mode and it blasts out the stench in an hour, just make sure the door is shut. Also, if you leave the house for the day, just blast it out. The away mode has several different hourly time settings.
You will notice a difference in your home almost instantly after you turn it on. It might take a few weeks to really notice other things, like less dust, and asthma and allergy problems relieved (not removed, but at least your home won't be one of many causes).
If you are reading this and are having negative results with your Fresh Air, first thing's first, read the manual, reduce square footage settings, reduce your fan speed, possibly move it to a different location, or only use it to sanitize when you are vacant from the home. All in all, I would highly recommend it!!!
