A refreshing, short-lasting scent.
Pros:
A light, fresh, clean aroma.
Cons:
Unique citrus top note fades very quickly to an ordinary base note.
The Bottom Line:
A great initial fragrance that I wish lasted longer. Overall, a very pleasant cologne.

Author's Review
Annick Goutal's Eau D'Hadrien is a pretty popular fragrance among some of the rich and famous. It is really a citrus fragrance, to me it is quite lemony and is supposed to contain grapefruit and cypress as well (cypress is an evergreen tree with an aroma said to resemble ambergris in some ways). I have yet to meet someone who did not enjoy the initial impression of this scent - it is delicious, which manages to be extremely lemony and citrusy without smelling like furniture polish. Overall, it is a very direct, one-dimensional,and pleasant fragrance to start. The problem I have with this perfume is its short duration: the citrusy notes fade surprisingly quickly, leaving behind a pretty ordinary (though subdued) musky base that is entirely unlike the initial impression of the aroma. This is not, in itself, a bad thing, as long as you like this emerging aroma. My advice: if you test this at a department store, spray some on yourself and wait an hour or so before making a judgement on this perfume. Like so many, it changes dramatically and is definitely not what you'd expect from a quick sniff of a test strip.
