Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, state of the art. BIG SCREEN: Use your laptop.
Cons: Laptop is too heavy, too big for pilots, use with Garmin Street Pilot C320
The Bottom Line: For a Rocket Scientist, this is the best way to get into GPS technology.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Update Aug 2009: I have a bunch of GPS units by now. If you get some different ones, you can do a comparison. The Garmin Street Pilot is still the best, easy to use, and the triangular shape lets you place it on the dash easily so you can see it, it...

Review: While searching for the best price on my new notebook computer, I happened onto the Delorme GPS Earthmate. The price of $99 dollars seemed too good to be true. I have gambled with a lot more so I ordered it, along with my computer, from PC Mall...

Pros: Voice commands/directions, hardware is solid, GPS integration with software is flawless
Cons: Unconventional interface requires longer learning curve, route planning is difficult
The Bottom Line: You should be wary of this product if you are not willing to put up with unconventional software. But the price is right, and the hardware is fantastic.

Review: I had been considering a GPS system for a couple years. I am an avowed map fanatic, and I love looking at maps and knowing where I am in the world. So I purchased this package, harboring a little bit of doubt, since I had really hoped to find a GPS...

Pros: Nice looking display
Cons: Buy this product if you enjoy yelling at your computer, getting lost, and driving in circles.
The Bottom Line: This is not a tool for professionals. I don't think Delorme used service or delivery people for the product beta testing.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I initially purchased the Delorme 2006 GPS package in late 2005.
I use it for business, I am an emergency service electrician. I cover the north Seattle area, so these issues are in a major city setting, which you would think would be well... |

Pros: Price. Amazing GPS capability. Outstanding customer service department. Good online forums and knowledge base.
Cons: User interface is unlike most Windows products. Lack of "how-to" documentation.
The Bottom Line: Based on its use on a three-day trip, this is a powerful and extremely useful product that is well supported and well worth its price.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is the bundle with the 2006 Street Atlas software. There seem to have been significant improvements over the 2005 software, which is still being sold in various outlets in June, 2006.

Pros: Portable, seems rugged. Better for hikers, sailors, etc. Great software!
Cons: Small NON touch screen, no support for Mac; poor choice for Auto use.
The Bottom Line: I have to give this product an "average" rating just because it tries to operate in territory best left to the TomTom/Garmin/etc crowd.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I was given a PN-20 for Christmas, and I have to say that it is a very useful and well designed product. My biggest complaint about it is that the screen size is inadequate to be used while driving. It is also just a bit slow to draw maps when...
