When "things" didn't appear as normal almost two months ago, I went into panic mode and wound up taking FIVE pregnancy tests. The first four were the basic
EPT +/- Pregnancy Tests. The second box of those had a free bonus
Certainty Pregnancy Test. After four negatives and still nothing happening down below, I took a deep breath and tried out this product.
About This Pregnancy Test
Like the other EPT tests, this consists of a stick that you have to place into your urine stream for at least 5 seconds. According to the packaging, you can use it at any time of day after the first day of a missed period for accurate results. After three minutes, the digital readout will clearly state "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant". You don't have to worry about one line, two lines, or plus/minus signs with the
EPT Certainty Pregnancy Test.
My Experience
When you don't want to have children, taking ANY pregnancy test is extremely stressful. I took the other four +/- tests after having a drink or two because I was such a nervous wreck. One morning I woke up with an absurd amount of confidence. I just whipped out this bonus
EPT Certainty Pregnancy Test as I walked into the bathroom and used it with my ultra-concentrated overnight collection of urine.
After exposing the test stick to my urine, a digital hourglass started rotating in the results window. It was both calming and stressful at the same time. I felt a bit relaxed because I knew the test was busy at work, but I was nervous and heard the Jeopardy final round theme music in my mind as that stupid hourglass spun around and around and around...
A smart person would have just walked out of the bathroom while the test stick sat on a level surface for three minutes. Well, no one ever said I was smart. I sat there staring at the
EPT Certainty Pregnancy Test on the window sill for every second of those three minutes. I hoped that the four faint negative lines of the other tests were something that I could depend on, but I'm not going to lie, I was still sweating it out that I could possibly be pregnant.
Eventually this test gave up the result: Not Pregnant. At that point I breathed a huge sigh of relief because it was official that I wasn't reading the +/- test results incorrectly. I finally agreed with EPT after almost two months that I was not pregnant. A blood test by the OB/GYN a week later confirmed all of EPT's results. NOT PREGNANT! WOOOOOOOO HOO!
Cost and Availability
Well, I didn't pay anything for my
EPT Certainty Pregnancy Test because it was included as a free sample in a 2-piece box of the +/- version. These
Certainty tests come in a 2-pack for $20. Honestly, $10 per test isn't all that much more than $7.50 per test and these things clearly spell the results out for you. You can find these pregnancy tests in drug stores, grocery stores, and discount retailers like Target, KMart, WalMart, etc. I bought mine at the local Rite-Aid.
Overall Experience
I had a great experience with the
EPT Certainty Pregnancy Test, or as great of an experience as one can have when they have no interest in having children. This test was easy to use and the results were extremely clear. A blood test confirmed the results from this
EPT Certainty Test, so I consider it reliable. I'd buy this pregnancy test again if I had another scare and would recommend it to someone who is looking for fast and simple results.
