by   Techsan ,  Sep 25, 2000
Pros: Great Writing, Interesting Facts & Figures, Awesome Photographs, Reasonable Cost
Cons: Lots of advertisements!
Review: As in life, times change! In the sports magazine world times have certainly changed, ESPN the Magazine has made a HUGE dent in the market share that Sports Illustrated has had for decades. I have been a subscriber to ESPN the Magazine for over a year...

My wife won't slap me for this one!

by   volfan75 ,  Mar 31, 2001
Pros: Doesn't rehash what I know has already happened.
Cons: Nah.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this magazine to anyone tired of reading what they learned from the nightly SportsCenter, or their local paper.
Review: When I first heard that ESPN was going to start a magazine, I thought, "Well, they had to retaliate against Sports Illustrated since they started doing sports on CNN." I also figured we would have another version of the same old thing. What happened...

As Cool as the Other Side of the Pillow

by   selfhi5 ,  Mar 30, 2001
Pros: Great articles, superbly done outline, great quality of pictures
Cons: Just another sports magazine
The Bottom Line: Great articles, writers, and very unbiased yet opinionated pieces of work.
Review: I'm sure that the following fact is true for the majority of men in the United States: SportsCenter is one of the highlights of their day. I know that this is true for me, as the highly rated sports reporting show on ESPN airs at about 8...

ESPN's Magazine Is the Print Equivalent of the Channel

by   neomartin ,  Aug 2, 2001
Pros: Similar in style to ESPN's main programs; interesting photographs; to-the-point articles
Cons: Dimensions of the magazine are larger than those of normal-sized magazines.
The Bottom Line: If you are a sports fan who enjoys the world of ESPN, then ESPN: The Magazine is a great choice.
Review: As a sports fan, I get my fix by reading the sports section of the newspaper before moving to the biased sections between the front page and the classifieds. Sometimes I listen to sports talk radio. During my web surfing I have to get my sports updates...

ESPN, THE sports magazine for Gen-Xers

by   socnorb777 ,  Apr 30, 2001
Pros: Edgy, great photos, hip, fun to read, always looking for the next trend.
Cons: Perhaps a bit too oversized
The Bottom Line: Fun and Funny and hip and thoughtful and great for people with a love for sports.
Review: I am a huge sports nut, and I enjoy ESPN the magazine tremendously! I used to have a subscription to both ESPN and Sports Illustrated, but SI is more expensive, and is not nearly as edgy. SI is more traditional and old school, which is fine if you're a...

The biggest and best sports magazine out there.

by   dperciv ,  Jan 5, 2001
Pros: Size, Price, Information, Easy to read
Cons: Bi-weekly rather than weekly
Review: ESPN the Magazine's grand entrance into the world of sports magazines has left me with the opinion that nobody can do it like ESPN does. They show their originality by featuring an extra-large sized magazine which makes it much easier to read all the...
