Worth the (slight) pain

I got the Silk-Epil as a gift from my mother, who had been very happy with it, and I have been using it for nearly two years now. I intended to use it on my legs, arms, and underarms. I found that shaving my legs is actually easier and more time efficient than using this device. I still do my arms occasionally, but it is somewhat time consuming and slightly painful. However, I have continued to use it on my underarms, and it has been well worth it. The very first time you use it, it will be painful (I have used ice to numb the area first), but you will be left with perfectly smooth skin. It will take a couple hours for the redness to go away. Hairs grow at different rates, so using it every 4-5 days will keep everything under control, and it will not hurt because hair will be finer. The only problem I have had is with ingrown hairs. I haven't tried any topical remedies for this, so if anyone knows of any good products for ingrown hairs, please leave a comment! I just let it grow out. Not having to deal with shaving my underarms or the redness and irritation and itching that shaving causes has made using the Silk-Epil well worth it, and it's a breeze once you get that first session over with.
The device itself is comfortable to hold and use, though it is a bit noisy. I did blow out the AC adapter it came with when I went overseas, but was able to purchase a new one.
