Final Draft

“NFL Madden 2007 for Xbox 360”
Madden first began as a computer game for Apple 2 in 1989. The game was only known as John Madden Football. In 1990, John Madden Football made the first console version for Sega Genesis. It wasn’t until 1993 that the game gained full NFL licensing and became known as Madden NFL. Since then, EA Sports has released annual updates for every system.
Since the original Madden NFL there have been many alterations. Over the years, the game has evolved and matured into the godly game that is known as Madden NFL 2007. The only way to play this game, and experience all that it has to offer is to play Madden NFL on Xbox 360.
Madden NFL 2007 has amazing graphics. I would rate the graphics a 9.5 out of 10 and that is because I never rate anything a 10. Giving a rating of 10 would be like saying that there is no more room for improvement and EA Sports has showed us over the years that they will always be bringing sport video games closer to reality. Now even though I have no clue how EA Sports will make the game more realistic, they always manage too every year. This version of Madden NFL on Xbox 360 has brought football games to such a realistic image that sometimes I believe that I am watching a real televised football game. While playing this game you will witness actual sweat on the players, the effects the weather has on the ball and the players, and real life commentary from John Madden.
Obviously, the graphics can only truly be experienced on the Xbox 360. Now the graphics are alright on the Playstation 3 because of the upgrade from the Playstation 2. Playstation 3 version almost gets my approval but it just is not the same as the Xbox 360. The version on the the Playstation 2 and the Gamecube are not even in the same league with the Xbox 360. The graphics on these two other systems are very sketchy. Also, there are constant glitches that occur all the time during game play and the glitches begin to become very annoying. These kinds of faults in the game rarely, if ever, happen on the Xbox 360. That is why if a person truly wants to see what Madden NFL 2007 has to offer then that person has to play it on the Xbox 360.
Madden NFL 2007 has got to be the greatest investment that I have ever made. I paid the price of fifty dollars which is the price when the game initially came out. Those mere fifty dollars has brought me hours upon hours of fun and exciting football entertainment. I bought this product hoping that it would be bigger and better than the Madden NFL 2006 and I was right. Madden NFL 2007 makes last years version appears vary out of date because of the additions of new players, the new switch blocker ability, and the choice to use the quarterback vision.
Now obviously there are other football games out there in the market but are they honestly in the same league with Madden NFL 2007? Well first of all, there is the Blitz football game that is an unrealistic violent football game. Blitz is an entertaining game but because it is an unrealistic game it really doesn’t compete with madden. Another opponent is known as ESPN Football. Now ESPN Football puts up a good fight, but the computer opponents become so predictable that the fun is lost in that aspect of the game. Out of all of the other games that could be compared with Madden, only EA Sports own NCAA 2007 comes close. The only mistake that was made with the NCAA 2007 was that they made the spin move too unrealistic. In the end, Madden NFL 2007 rules them all with an overall rating of 9.5.
Now game play is a very hard subject to rate because it depends on your preference of video game. Personally, I am a fan of strategy and sports game. Now I know that many people don’t realize how much strategy there is in a football game. Well I can tell you as an experienced Xbox live player that when playing against a great opponent, strategy is everything. So the overall game play rating would be a solid 9.0
Playing Madden every year has been like a tradition to me. I bought this year’s version hoping for another great year of madden competition and it is the best yet. Anyone who loves video games and football would love this game. I would highly recommend this game to any and everyone because if I had the opportunity, I would easily buy the game again.
