The Bottom Line: Would buy again
Not sure what else can be added but this being the fourth vac we've tried I had to add something. I could have saved a bunch of money if I had spent it in the first place. I had one bag left for the old one so I decided to do a little test. Now we have six cats and the bedroom was done a week ago so I wasn't looking for either vac to get that much, the Hoover didn't get much but Dyson filled the canister almost twice. The Dyson not only picked up MUCH more but the beater bar stayed cat hair free for the most part, I cleaned the Hoover bar several times. I then did the hallway which had been done the same day as the bedroom with the Dyson, filled the canister five times and still the beater bar had little hair on it.
As the name applies, if you have animal (s) this is the vac for you. This was an early Christmas present and my wife is overjoyed. Once Christmas is over we will do the whole house minus the tree and all the other Christmas stuff.
Will do a full report on all the attachments once they are all used.
I let the cat hair build up along the walls in the hallway for a month just to see how the machine would handle heavier compared to normal hair when it was done on a weekly bases. Did the hallway in about ten minutes and after I was done I did it the old way, (on my hands and knees with a brush) because the old vac would leave this hair plus. There was nothing left against the walls or around the door ways. I noticed someone said something about the wands or hose being loose, mine is so tight I have to use two hands to get it to slide.
Flea season is upon us and by now I usually have to spray but this year that hasn't be necessary so I have to believe the vac is getting the eggs. I'll spray around the house outside and will hold off on inside until I need to.
One thing I wish they had included is a tool to clean out the canister, something none metal like what I'm using now. Hair packs itself around the top of the canister and no matter how hard to bang it on the side it stays until I use a long skinny screw driver.
