My Husband Had to Have a Red Toaster – Go Figure

My husband, who really doesn't like to cook, and has no interest in anything for the kitchen, saw a red Dualit toaster in the window of a high-end gourmet shop and then he HAD to have it. I couldn't afford it, but when I found this toaster, the little brother to the Dualit Vario, or Big Red as my husband called it, I bought it sight unseen. I couldn't have imagined spending this much on a toaster before I bought it but now I can't imagine ever having any other toaster. It has been an amazing toaster. We went from lightly toasted in the middle and burned around the edges to perfect toast every time. You can make perfect soft toast, or perfect crispy toast, or perfect in between toast. In a word you have - control. There is even a special "bagel button". You put the bagel into the toaster, facing in, and once started you push the bagel button so that the heat is reduced on the outside of the bagel, but it still gets nice and toasted on the cut side - genius!

The exterior is easy to clean, it doesn't show prints or dirt on the polypropylene parts, where you touch it most, and the crumb tray is easy to empty.
