A touching comedy for people of all ages!

This thing is so damn super-cute and sugary-sweet that it's almost nauseating. I LOVED it! Whoever it was that was responsible for casting the wide-eyed Pheobe Cates in this movie is a total genuis. She's like the most adorablest actress EVER in the history of adorable actresses and was just oh-so-perfect for this role. Witnessing her supposed mental breakdown was a total hoot! Rik Mayall is just as good - his character was annoying at first, but it didn't take long for him to grow on me. The comedy worked for the most part (Slapstick and nonsense humor at it's best. Try quoting this movie to a friend who hasn't seen it if you really want to look insane...) and of course there's a touching, meaningful message about figuring out who you are. It's just so totally '90's! Which basically means that it's awesome. Kind of like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in a lot of ways, too. And it's one of those rare films that people of pretty much any age can enjoy. It's like an adult movie for kids. Or maybe it's a kid movie for adults. Either way, it's absolutely wonderful. Now I want to go get an imaginary friend of my own...
