Drawn to Life: Draw Just About Anything and Watch it Come to Life!

by   boringmonkey23 ,   Jun 21, 2008

Pros:  fun game concept, your drawings come to life

Cons:  repetitive, no replay value

The Bottom Line:  I recommend this game for children who like to draw and children overall as it is a fun game! Too bad it gets repetitive and has no replay value!

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

Drawn to Life is an entertaining game that has a really neat concept and lets your drawings come to life! It does get repetitive after a while and it has no replay value unless you want to do the same exact thing again! When I first bought this game I was extremely addicted to it and couldn’t stop playing, but after a couple hours into the game you realize that the game practically repeats itself!

~~~The Game Concept~~~
The concept of this game is to restore a town that was destroyed by an evil creature and covered in darkness. You play as both the creator and also your hero. The town has lost practically everything since the creator left. You get to draw almost everything from the sun to the hero that saves the town. You can even name the town whatever you want!
Once the creator has talked to the mayor and Mari, he draws the hero in creation hall. You can make the hero look however you want it to! Next the mayor sends the hero (which is played by you) into the snow gate and you must rescue a page of the Book of Life and also 3 Raposa. (The Raposa are the inhabitants of the town.) In order to rescue a page of the book you must find 4 templates.
Each time you beat a level in the gate, you are talked to by someone nearby and then you go and see the mayor. The mayor places the page back into the Book of Life. Whatever page you have found, you will draw a picture of what the page represents. You will also clear out a section of the darkness. More gates appear and each gate has 4 levels and one final level where you battle an enemy of some sort.
~~~The Things That I Liked~~~

The main thing that is the best part of this game is that it is whatever you want it and make it to be. You can choose anything! For example, you could even change the hero’s color of shoes! This is what makes the game so much fun! Each level there is always at least two things you draw and then there is something you draw in the town!

Another fun thing about this game is that it has an enjoyable plot and even the stuff you don’t create is still fun! There are events such as a festival and there is romance between Raposas. Everything is fun to watch in the game, especially for children!

~~~The Things That I Didn’t Like~~~
This game has virtually no replay value whatsoever! I find this very disappointing in a game! I like to beat the video game, and then still be able to play it without starting over or doing the same thing. Once you beat the game, everything will happen exactly the same, so once you beat it you will want to trade it in or let it collect dust! Although, one good thing is that when you do play again you can draw things differently!
Drawn to Life also gets very repetitive because you simply beat the level, talk to Mari or someone, talk to the mayor, clear the darkness, draw the object! I am glad that the levels do not have anything in common though! Each one has something different in it!
~~~Overall Recommendation~~~

Drawn to Life is a really great game especially for creative people and people who like to draw! Children will enjoy this game with the bright colors and fun characters, not to mention being able to draw! This game is a lot of fun although it does get a little bit repetitive and has no replay value!
