Dodge Caravan: There's Even Room for Man's Best Friend

Although my husband and I have never been fond of Mini-Vans (mostly due to the negative stereo-types), we decided to rent this one to see how we liked it. Although this is obviously a mini-van by looks Doge has put it's classic style into the design (for those of us who prefer the looks to anything else). We were going to visit family and wanted to take our extremely large dog (over 100 pounds), who does not fit in our Dodge Stratus with the infant seat. This van was perfect for the trip. we could stow one of the middle seats to make room for the dog to comfortably lay down.

Stow and Go
The best and unique feature of this van (and the Chrysler Town & Country) is the Stow and Go seating. All of the back seats very easily fold down and store in the underside of the van. When these storage areas are not holding the seats you can also store additional items (such as children's toys). The large back area "trunk" that is indented to prevent small items from rolling around (or in our case easily fits a full size stroller). Additional storage is found all over the vehicle too.

Safety
Unfortunately, we had gotten into an accident while driving this vehicle. We were rear-ended at a fairly high speed and walked away with very minimal injury and only damage to the lift gate and right quarter panel. We were glad we were driving the Caravan instead of our smaller stratus in this instance.

Features Galore
Dodge has made it so you can have many conveniences included in the Caravan. Like someone else has said "it's the Swiss Army Knife of Mini-Vans."

Drivability
Since I am used to driving a smaller car it was definitely a different experience to drive a van. This particular van was pretty easy to adapt to. I like being able to sit up higher, yet it still felt like driving a car. Overall I would rate it smooth and easy to drive.
