Author's Review
As a college student, money is hard to come by. Between tuition, books, living and so on, there is not much left for a good car...or so I thought.
My previous car was falling apart and I was in need of something new with low maintenance and a good warranty. I shopped around extensively with much dismay. I finally arrived at a Dodge dealership and I was shocked. When I thought of a Neon I thought of a small, weak, poorly made car. This was not the case with the new 2000 Neon.
They increased the horsepower to 132 and let me tell you, you can really feel it. A fiend of mine has an older model and after driving it, I would be afraid to enter a parkway in fear of not accelerating fast enough; it has no power. The 2000 model makes me feel more than comfortable in terms of power. Do not get me wrong, it is not by any means a Mustang, but for a small four-cylinder it moves.
As far as the interior, it is very roomy. I definitely feel as though I'm driving a much bigger car than I am. I have plenty of room in the driver's seat and I often get compliments on the spaciousness of the back seat. I've gone on a couple of road trips with at least 3 other passengers and there was plenty of room for all of us including our luggage. Another great aspect is the gas mileage. With prices as high as they are, it is nice to have a car that gets at least 24 miles to the gallon in the city.
In any event, I am paying considerably less for for my Neon than any other small 4-cylinder I looked at. I fully recommend the 2000 Dodge Neon to anyone looking for a great value. There is definitely more bang for your buck.
