Author's Review
While Drew Carey chose to name his book two of the most important things in life--dirty jokes and beer, the book isn't entirely just about these things. In fact, the main part of the book is Drew's autobiography. There's a lot of beer there, but there's quite a bit of other good stuff, too. You'll find out quite a few surprising bits of information about the Dilbert look-alike. For example, how many people would guess that a guy like Drew is a former marine?
Each chapter of the autobiographical section starts with a dirty joke, thus the first part of the title. A lot of them have been around for a while, and you've probably heard them before. Others were new to me. Almost all of them were very funny.
The next major section of the book is the one titled "101 Dick Jokes," which are not about the host of American Bandstand. Since this is a family forum, I'll just say that it had some pretty funny ones as well as a few really bad ones.
Rounding out the book are several pieces of surprisingly good pieces of short fiction by Drew. Most of them are about a character named "Drew" with friends whose names will seem pretty familiar. Some are right out of the autobiographical section, with the character Drew having much more interesting and outlandish actions than the real-life Drew.
In case the title didn't clue you in, be advised that Dirty Jokes and Beer is full of foul language and low-brow humor--most guys will love it. Don't expect it to be a part of the Oprah Book Club, but if Howard Sterne or Jimmy Kimmal ever starts promoting books, it should be near the top of the list.
