Just an Okay vacuum

I have owned this particular Dirt Devil vacuum now for almost 2 years. We have only had to fix it one time but there have been numorous times that we would have to mess with it to get it working. It seems to be very testy for some reason.

First of all, the nicest thing about this vacuum is that the hose is right on board and already hooked up...you only have to pull it out and use it. Then, when you stick it back in place, the regular vacuum works again. Very convenient. I have had other vacuum's where you have to stop and attach the hoses. That was always the biggest pain. The only problem with this is that it very often gets plugged. I have no idea why. I don't pick up large things. But for some reason it will create dust/hair balls and they are hard to get out. We have found the only way to get it cleaned out is to unhook it and spray our garden hose through it. This is fine in the summer but in the winter...it is a pain.

The vacuum itself is pretty heavy though. Next time I purchase a vacuum I will definately be checking its weight. I am usually pretty tired by the time I am done using this one even though it has great, swivel wheels.

The bags are very easy to remove and replace. They just slip on and there is nothing that you have to actually do. In my house, we can go three or more months without changing it. I will tell you though that when it needs changing, it will not work very well at all. It will start too shoot dirt back out around the vacuum. So be sure to keep the bag replaced as often as needed.

I have also owned the Dirt Devils hand held vacuum and was always fairly happy with that one too. So overall, Dirt Devil is a great vacuum. I would buy from them again for sure. There were two other vacuums in my life and niether one of them made it a year. That is pretty sad. So this one is definately the winner.
