Direct Concept Magic Bullet 7712 Single-Speed Handheld Blender

So we received the bullet set with the blender set as a gift, and it works well with small portions like salsas, dressings, sauces and etc. The small containers with lids conveniently double for storage as well. That's about the extent of what this Bullet is good for and I don't think that justifies the price of the unit. The day I tried to make an iced blended drink turned out to be a disaster. The vibrations from the blender loosened the base and the drink started to leak out from the bottom and into the motor unit. After unsuccessfully trying to clean up that mess, (sticky red syrup had had worked its way into all the seams and holes of the base)I discovered that the flimsy blades are not powerful to fully chop up the ice. Having resigned to settle for a half blended drink, we tried to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Unfortunately my husband nearly swallowed a clear jagged piece of the plastic blender that had broken off during the blending process and was swimming in the mix. I do not recommend this blender for anything other than light blending/pureeing. Its a shame, considering it was advertised to be a versatile unit.
