Author's Review
Have you ever wanted to reduce stress in your life? decrease the amount of work you do, while increasing the amount of money you earn? have more time for yourself? outwit everyone in your life? brutally hurt your enemies? get a very good job? or find a way to drive your boss and co-workers nuts? Then you, my friend, need the Way of the Weasel.
One of Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert,'s latest books, Dilbert and the Way of the Weasel is a brilliant book that uses hilarious comic strips, e-mails from real people, and the evil genius mind of Scott Adams to teach you how to be a weasel.
A weasel:
A weasel is someone who finds ways to get less work, earn more money, and drive people insane, without ever doing anything painful.
The concept:
The concept of the book is very simple. In 30+ chapters, Adams teaches you all the things you have to do to be a weasel. You learn how to drive co-workers mad, scare your boss into a drug addiction, as well as weasel debating skills (such as calling your opponent insensitive), and all the different types of weasels you meet everyday (news people, police officers, flight attendants, the list goes on and on), as well as how to thwart any other weasels in your life.
This is not a fairy tale book. There are not unrealistic things you have to do in order to become "the ultimate weasel". Mostly everything told to you by Adams in the book is realistic and completely possible. I've already taken much of his advice and used it in the real world, and let me tell you, it makes my life so much easier.
Adams uses comics, letters from people (who I assume are real, as I havent been told otherwise) and his own mind to convey his points. Hell start a chapter on a certain quality of a weasel (such as dealing with your co-workers), then show an e-mail from a real person (that has to do with co-workers), then hell give his own advice, and finish it with a Dilbert strip, proving his point.
How its funny :
Adams uses a lot of sarcasm in the book, and the rest of the time he just tells it as it is. Adams also uses over exaggeration in his comics, which again is hilarious. Best of all, Adams does not use smart humor. He is easy to understand, and quite a few of his jokes are slapstick (who doesnt like slapstick?).
Lets finish this:
Adams manages to make your life a whole lot easier, while making you laugh all of the time. Way of the Weasel is an incredible book that will change your life!
