Die Hard 2 : Die Harder - A Really Bad Day for Bruce Willis

Directed by Renny Harlin, staring Bruce Willis and William Sadler, this 1990 movie is the second in the die hard series and almost as good as the original. 

The Story

This time we find McClean (Bruce Willis) a tough New York cop waiting for his wife's plane to arrive at Washington's Dulles Airport.  McClean is already having a bad day, even before he uncovers a devilish plot by rogue commandos to free General Ramon Esperanza - a failed warlord and drug baron whose plane is also inbound to Dulles.

The commandos lead by Col. Stuart (Sadler) take total control of the airport, including the flight control tower, and demand a fully loaded cargo plane to fly General Ramon Esperanza away from the airport once he lands.  It is up to McClean once again to save the day and if you have watched the first Die Hard, you will know he never does it the easy way.  As the circling planes start running out of fuel,  time is running out for both the passengers and McClean and after an aborted attempt to regain control of the flight controls, Col. Stewart crashes a plane.  Can McClean foil the bad guys again before his wife's plane runs out of fuel?

People say that sequels are never as good as the original and 9 times out of 10 that is the case.  This movie is no exception, but as the original was probably the best action movie of the 1980sti would have been hard to top Die Hard.  Die Harder is however a great movie and stands alone as a classic, if it hadn't been for Die Hard, people would have been calling this the greatest action movie so far.  A great supporting cast and brilliant special effects make this a great movie to watch, funny as well as action packed.
 
Overall I have to give Die Hard : Die Harder a well deserved 9/10
