Sweet Revenge (of the Nerds)

by   plorentz , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Sep 20, 2002
Pros: A veritable treasure trove of TMBG classics. Excellent liner notes and packaging too!
Cons: Only 52 songs?
The Bottom Line: A massive and thorough anthology of the band's work that will put you back in touch with your own inner geek.
Review: Remember in the movie "Revenge of the Nerds", at the end of the Greek games, when each of the fraternities do their pathetic little skits, only to be eclipsed by the nerds of Lambda Lambda Lambda who put on a killer live show, and end up taking the...

The best of the best band out there

by   necro1ite ,  Mar 26, 2003
Pros: It's a collection of They Might Be Giants most liked songs, what's not to like?
Cons: If you can find a con you have no taste.
The Bottom Line: The best of compilation of the best band. That is what this is. You will never find a better anthology collection ever.
Review: They Might Be Giants is one of the most eclectic bands to ever be formed. They have a long and illustrious career as is outlined through the clever use of liner notes. The songs are catchy and will stick in your head like a serrated razor blade of...

Dorks Applaud

by   lebellemort ,  Apr 4, 2003
Pros: Has almost all your favorite songs by them
Cons: You must be a dork to enjoy this
The Bottom Line: To anyone who doubts them give it a few more tries, once you get it you'll love them forever just like I did.
Review: Before maybe 2 years ago I had never heard of They Might Be Giants....but I do remember hearing Istanbul on the radio -way back when, but I had no idea who they where still. Then I met my eternal nerd love who introduced me to this group who I thought...

A Great 20th Birthday Present from They Might Be Giants

by   juancircled ,  Apr 22, 2004
Pros: Showcases their most popular and most obscure material in one very generous package
Cons: May only have appeal for a relatively narrow audience.
The Bottom Line: If you are a TMBG fan, reward yourself and buy this great package. If you are a casual admirer this will give you a great insight into TMBG.
Review: It was actually my 9 year old daughter that suggested we buy this album when she saw it in the record store. We were on holiday at the time and doing a lot of driving so we needed something fresh for the CD player. I've owned the obligatory TMBG album: ...

A Brief History

by   dopple ,  Dec 14, 2002
Pros: A couple songs not found on proper albums; not horribly put together.
Cons: Odd choices, pointlessness of it all.
The Bottom Line: Step on Spider!
Review: Since this 2 CD best-of collection is meant to 'celebrate' the 20 year anniversary of They Might Be Giants, I thought I might include a run-down of the bands illustrious recording career, and a guide of how to explore their music the right way instead of...
