PC recording has NEVER been this good (updated 1/27/03).

by   monoblocks ,  Aug 9, 2002
Pros: Audio quality nearly on par with original prerecorded CDs.
Cons: Cumbersome, plodding user interface that's surrenders much to better-designed computer-based burning software.
The Bottom Line: For CD recording, no computer without a professional/studio grade audio processor can compare.
Review: The number 1500 holds a hallowed place among the audio products in Denon’s history. Their early audiophile CD player, the DCD-1500 from the early 1980s, was often considered THE first CD player from any manufacturer that was good enough to...

Great sound quality. Makes great copies of LPs.

by   thinkzinc ,  Oct 29, 2006
Pros: Great sound quality. Makes bit-for-bit copies of CDs and great conversions of LPs.
Cons: Requires CD-Audio disks and uses DCMS.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended, especially for those who want to convert LPs to CD.
Review: Highlights Records analog, digital or coax. High-speed or real-time cd duplication. Great sound quality with built-in 24-bit digital analog converter. Plenty of inputs and outputs. Relay mode for disk-to-disk playback. The Denon CDR-W1500 interface ...

New Life for my LPs!!

by   artnut ,  Jun 29, 2006
Pros: Quality of recorded sound. Dual tray arrangement. Recording options.
Cons: Function lettering on the faceplate is way small & on black. Home-made temporary labels helped.
The Bottom Line: This is a great buy and will give your music a new lease on life!!
Review: I read every review of every cd recording device I could find in doing my research. This Denon model seemed to be the best choice and I managed to find one on-line at a discount that included a viable warranty - Denon advises that it will only honor ...

Good sound reproduction

by   richardep ,  Sep 9, 2004
Pros: excellent sound on copied CDs
Cons: It takes some practice and trial & error to master all of the features.
Review: I have had this CD recorder for only a couple of weeks, so I'm still getting used to its operation. The important thing is that the sound of the recorded CDs is indistinguishable from that of the originals. However, I still need to become more aware of ...

Fine until it needs service

by   trannyman ,  Sep 6, 2007
Pros: Nicely built player with good sound/recording.
Cons: No support/service from Denon in large city (San Diego).
Review: My 1500 was as good as described in the other reviews. Then the logic and controls went bad. I can live with this after having it for 2 years, but then the real problem. Denon doesn't have a single authorized service center in San Diego, Ca. Not one. ...
