Pros: A conditional thumbs up.
Cons: Complex. Unit should have a non-geek warning sticker!
The Bottom Line: I'm far from partial. Been a Denon owner/retailer for 25 years. With reservation, this is a GREAT component!
Review: Denon's 3000 series of A/V surround receivers keeps getting better. Last year's 3805 was a wildly successful unit and the 3806 may end up being an even bigger blockbuster. If you already own a 3805, should you dump it for the new 3806 ... probably ...

Pros: Power to boot. 3 user interface. Unmatched sound quality.
Cons: HDMI interfacing with DSS systems still questionable.
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent upgrade of the AVR3805 that is justifiable of the extra dollars.
Review: For everyone that wants mid to high-end performance from an AV receiver, but were locked in at a $1200 or less budget, your ship has come in. The Denon AVR3806 is a custom home theater dream-come-true. It has every feature that you could possibly ...

Pros: You will be hard pressed to do better in this price range
Cons: Considerable learning curve
The Bottom Line: Give it the time it deserves to learn its functionality and you will be richly rewarded for your efforts.
Review: When I finally obtained the means to build my dream home with my dream A/V system, the 3806 was chosen by me to be at the heart of a rather elaborate multi-zone, multi-display system. Other reviewers have commented in length about ...

Pros: The best. Connectability. Digital processing.
Cons: Cost. No THX. Hard to learn. Misearable Remote.
The Bottom Line: You will need to be Techno-capable with this unit. Use an installer to do it for you if you have problems with connections. Not user friendly remote.
Review: This is my second home theater Denon. My first was great but lacked comprehensive digital connetibility that is required with today's electronic devices. The only real problem with the Denon, and this can be said for all later models of digital ...

Pros: Great power for $1200, good looking, 7channel stereo is a cool feature
Cons: HDMI switching works like a prototype, onscreen display may take some patience
The Bottom Line: If you want it because it has great power for $1200 or because Denon is a great product, go for it.
Review: I have been installing Denon receivers for five years. It has a typical menu, if you are aware of what the different kinds of inputs and cables are called for a/v it is pretty easy to use. The HDMI upconversion works great but the switching is a drag. ...
