Author's Review
Have you ever felt confined to your computer? Ever been stuck writing a paper or resumé? Have you ever been trapped by technology?
Demon Seed
Susan has been alone for a few years now and feels unprotected. She has bought herself a state of the art security system. The system is complete with heat sensors, trip lasers, cameras, and a voice activation system named Alfred. This system is invincible.
One night, when all was dark, she was awaken by a beep from the security system. In her bed she lay still, wondering: Was that just a error in the computer? Has someone breached the system? Is there a virus?
My Thoughts
I enjoyed Dean Koontz's style of narration. It is told in the point of view of the hacker, which can make the story very interesting. You go through all of the breacher's thoughts and feelings, very wonderful way to write type of non-fiction. You get a great amount of background for all the characters. The only downfall is that the setting never switches, just expands. You learn more about the house, enough of the house you could probably draw a map of the house at the end of this novel. This story is a quick read and a superb read for anyone from 14 and beyond.
Verdict
One great, quick book. You get sucked into the action right from the beginning and it doesn't let you go until you say, "Mercy!" If you love action, mystery, and spooky stories this is for you!
