Laughed First, Loved It Later

Date of Review:  Mar 9, 2003
The Bottom Line: The best toaster oven I've ever seen or used. Could have a few more features, but still good as is. Expensive if you buy it.
Review: Sure, I could probably live without my DeLonghi Retro Toaster Oven. My $9.99 two slice Hamilton Beach toaster in pale black trim would suffice for most of my toasting means. But every once in a while you see something that catches your eye. And,...

Beware of its pretty face

Date of Review:  Mar 10, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you need a toaster oven that looks good with your stainless steel appliances, this DeLonghi is unfortunately one of the few choices you have.
Review: After redesigning the whole kitchen and buying stainless steel appliances, our good old Black & Decker toaster oven, which still worked flawlessly, just didn?t fit in at all with its white and chrome finish. It bothered us a bit, but we decided to...

The Mel Gibson of Toaster Ovens: Looks Great, But Has Some Wacky Ideas

Date of Review:  Mar 12, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you want a toaster you can enjoy using, run away from this toaster as fast as you can.
Review: I selected this toaster based on its good looks and what I thought was a good reputation for Delonghi. Perhaps I was misled into thinking price=quality.

I have now owned the toaster for about a week, and here are my issues with it:

Delonghi Retro Toaster Oven

Date of Review:  May 6, 2003
The Bottom Line: It is an attractive appliance, but it has broken twice within an 8 month period. AVOID THIS OVEN: YOU DO NOT NEED THE HEADACHE OF REPAIRING OR RETURNING THIS APPLIANCE!
Review: This is by far one of the better looking toaster ovens on the market which is why we replaced a working one with the DeLonghi Toaster Oven at Christmas. We liked the big handle and shiny stainless/chrome. However, within one month of use, the timer...

Not just a pretty face.

Date of Review:  Dec 4, 2003
The Bottom Line: The DeLonghi Retro is attractive, has great capacity, and excellent performance. It's expensive, and the controls take some getting used to, but if the looks matter, it's worth it.
Review: I have owned a DeLonghi Retro toaster oven for about 2 years. It's not perfect, but it is the best toaster oven I have ever owned.

Two years ago, we gutted our tired old kitchen. This created two needs. First, we needed to replace our old...

Looks are Not Everything

Date of Review:  Nov 4, 2003
The Bottom Line: Would have recommended highly, if it were not for the melting plug. May have a safety problem here.
Review: I loved this oven for 1 year..Died at the age of 1 year.
Easy to Clean..Nice size oven to put a casserole dish in.
I used this oven more for small casseroles than toast. Pizza, frozen food, etc. It looks good, easy to clean and does not...

RETRO JUNK

Date of Review:  Aug 26, 2002
The Bottom Line: BUY ANYTHING BUT THIS PRODUCT! BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP! FAR CHEAPER MODELS OUT PERFORM THIS PIECE OF CRAP!
Review: RETRO JUNK!!!

This sleek stainless steel box is a piece of crap. After 6 months the painted finish started to flake off, At 8 months the timer and cooking control mechanism stopped working causing food to burn or not cook at all.

working beauty

Date of Review:  May 13, 2002
The Bottom Line: Spend the extra money. It is worth it.
Review: My toaster died. It was a wide slot, not too old.

So when I went to replace it I saw the same model for $60.00.

I thought I might as well buy a toaster oven and settled
on the beautiful DeLonghi Retro.

It has 3...

Looks good, more room

Date of Review:  Jun 22, 2003
The Bottom Line: If functionally you need a middlin to fair oven that looks great, this is it.
Review: My old GE toaster oven given to me for Christmas 24 years ago bit the dust. OK to be truthful I set a bag of groceries on the toast lever, not allowing it to turn off, and it fried itself to death. So into the stainless and retro kitchen, my wife...

Date of Review:  Jan 17, 2003
The Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY- extreme fire hazard!!!
Review: What a beautiful toaster oven.I loved this thing for the 11 months I have had it until today when after the toast cycle ended, I went about my business. Little did I know, the timer switch kept ticking in the off position until it turned itself back...
