My BEST Microwave Purchase!
Date of Review: Oct 23, 2002
The Bottom Line: This product is affordable and very reliable. You will get perfectly done potatoes and UN-burnt popcorn bags.
I am completely thrilled with my Delonghi Microwave. Unlike my two others, which will remain nameless, when packaging instructions say 2-3 minutes....I can actually put the item in for 2 minutes and take out a perfectly cooked (warmed) item. There are fewer buttons to worry about than some models out there....but its not so simple that you could hardly do more than zap a burrito.
It has a "micro" button and a "defrost" button....but the time is added by rotating the knob. There are no 1 second increments so time is added by the ten seconds. There are also "popcorn", "steamed vegetables", "reheat" & "potato" buttons. Obviously intended for these exact items...you place the item in the microwave...push the desired one, then "start". The time is automatically started on a preset/pre-programed increment.
It is compact enough to sit on a shelf without worry of falling (grin)...but also large enough for some casserole dishes.
It has a rotating feature which I like....but the dish itself, I do not like. It is the ONLY thing about it that I do not like. If something sticks to it and your dish....it will pull straight out. One of these days....I'm bound to break it! but that being its only downfall....I'll live with it. (grin)
last of all, it is very affordable. I paid only $89 for mine a year ago from www.chef.com. It was free shipping and I would definitely get another one if ever the need arose.
