No more fires!
Date of Review: Dec 11, 2000
After a particularly nasty kitchen fire, caused by someone dropping a basket of wet chips into the hot oil rather rapidly, (yes, that would be me), it was decided that a fryer with a lid and definitely a plug in, was to be placed on the shopping list.
Now I don't eat fried food. I much prefer rice and pasta as a side in preference to chips. BUT, my significant other MUST HAVE chips with every meal. Feed him steak, eggs and chips every night (which on principle I refuse to do!), and he'd be a very happy man.
So off to the shops we popped and came home with a new deep fryer, and one with a rotating basket no less!
I don't know what I ever did without it! No more oil splatters, no sickly smell of oil wafting through the house and no more kitchen fires.
The booklet that accompanied it even tells me that I'm cooking healthier as the rotation of the basket reduces the oil absorption (ah, that's what it's for!)
This fryer is easy to use, looks good on the bench top (always a bonus!) and and for those with children a definite must have for the safety factor alone. So many children are severely burnt due to hot oil pots being pulled off stove tops.
The viewing window makes it easy to see how food is progressing without having to open it up.
This fryer has simplified cleaning by it's hose feature located at the base. Open, drain oil, clean hose, dry, and your ready.
Truly an excellent product for anyone wanting to put a little more safety features into their kitchen.
