I Now Have A Fighting Chance To Fry Like The Pros

I consider myself somewhat skilled in the area of cooking, except when it comes to frying things. Frying foods (by some considered to be one of the easiest methods of cooking aside from boiling hotdogs or eggs) has always brought me to my knees.

Soggy fish, overcooked chicken, stuck together shellfish, and oily items devoid of yummy batter are all signs that I have once again attempted to overstep my bounds. The worst part of all of this is the smell and cleanup, which inevitable follows my failed attempts.

That is, until now.

I felt that the only way I would have a fighting chance to be successful at this thing would be to buy a deep fryer. It had to be idiot proof, clean easy, keep odors down, and turn a frying retard into a frying genius!

Well, upon the recommendations of other members, I promptly plunked down my $190 (in NY City) and happily trotted home, ready to fry everything in sight. I stopped by the store and picked up more seafood than I and a friend could ever eat and Beer Batter by McCormick. So what's the verdict?

1. IDIOT PROOF - Absolutely...This was a dream to operate and the directions are straightforward! BRAVO!

2. EASY CLEANING - Well, if you haven't read any other reviews, then let me be the first to tell you that I can imagine nothing easier!!! Delonghi has done a spectacular job making cleanup an 8 minute process...LITERALLY!!

3. ODORS? - Odors?, what odors? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Odors! The charcoal filter might as well be a bouquet of roses compared to the smells of the classic way!

4. AM I NOW THE EMERIL LAGASSE OF FRYING? - NOT BY A LONGSHOT! I still can't fry to save my life, but at least now I feel like I have a powerful tool to help me get there!!! I now have a fighting chance!
