We’ve never had a fryer before and decided it was about time we did. So, we went looking at different stores and found this one at clearance at Target in February 2008. The price was right and we liked some of the features: it had a cover, it had a basket that drops down into the oil and then comes up so it can drip before taking the food out.
This fryer is cool to the touch. It has handles on the side, so it is easy to pick up or move. However, it is large, it is not something that I take out and put away when done. It stays out. It also has a useless window, you can not see the food cooking. There is no thermometer. There is no timer.
So far we have cooked chicken nuggets, chicken breasts, mozzarella sticks, shrimp, poppers, and french fries in this fryer. We cook everything separately. First the mozzarella sticks, then the chicken nuggets, then the fries. All the food has come out delicious. Everything is cooked evenly. Nothing has burned.
You will need a spot measuring 13"x12". It is 11"H when closed and it needs an extra 9" of space to open the lid (total of 20").
Draining the oil is very easy using the hose that it comes with. The hose comes out the bottom and we just put it into a container for filtering or disposal.
The fryer has 2 filters which prevents it from smelling.
Overall, we really like this fryer. We are glad we finally gave in and bought one!
