Author's Review

After verbally beating the heck out of the tech support staff at Dell, they finally admit, it's a design flaw and they are doing nothing about it. I tore one down to nothing but screws and found the problem was a metal support/stiffener under the palm rest that presses against the ribbon conecting the touchpad to the board. This thing is punched out, or die cut and has a sharp edge along the contacting surfaces. I used a piece of packaging tape that was 3-4 mil. thick on the underside of it and I can beat the heck out of the palm rest now and the cursor doesnt move. Yay for polyester.
I think the c610 is a good machine for the money. We have 50 in the field. I just have 49 more to go.
