Product Review

Dell Inspiron 1525

by   madhvi1976 ,   Jan 15, 2009

Pros:  Sleek and slim design, Great battery life with a standard battery, low cost

Cons:  Glossy LCD lid act as magnet for fingerprints

The Bottom Line:  the Dell Inspiron 1525 is a good budget notebook with good looks but not a great choice if you want to use it as gaming machine.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

DELL Inspiron 1525 is a smaller, slimmer lighter frame notebook with a firm keyboard with virtually no flex and the touchpad buttons have excellent travel and cushion with good texture. It has four USB ports, a media card reader, two headphone jacks, microphone jack, Express Card slot and an Ethernet port. It has lots of entertainment features for media geeks but its audio is on average side with raspy sounding speakers. It has no dedicated graphic card so it is not a good choice for gaming freaks as it cannot handle 3D graphics and it is limited to simple graphics and other 2D applications. It does a reasonable job keeping heat under control but fan noise is reasonably higher compare to most current notebooks. It has good battery life with Vista's power management running in "high performance" mode, screen brightness set to maximum and wireless on, the 6-cell battery delivers 2 hours and 53 minutes of battery life. It has a glossy screen with anti-glare option. It has 15.4 inch widescreen but screen image itself is little wobbly. Overall, the Dell Inspiron 1525 is a good budget notebook which is thinner and lighter to boost mobility but it is not a good deal for gamers.
