I absolutely love my Dell Latitude D620. I am a computer hardware technician at a local university, and I’ve seen it all. I deal with broken hardware all day, and I can say that the D620 is just about as good as it gets. This really is a little workhorse. I use mine all day – all day at school and work and then all night doing homework plugged into a docking station. It has never let me down. It is as sturdy as the monster Compaqs and yet nearly as light as IBM TXX series. The keyboard is bigger than most and it has mouse button both above and beneath the touchpad. You can add Bluetooth capability to it easily with Dell Bluetooth 350 module. Also, I can vouch for Dell’s tech support. I don’t have a tremendous amount of respect for people who swear either that Dell or HPs tech support is good or bad. However, I call tons Dell and HP daily, and I can say Dell is miles ahead. You may get a good or bad person on either one, but as far as consistent quality, Dell is better. The technicians are allowed to think for themselves and will work with you in solving issues, whereas HP has such a scripted employee – usually who can’t speak English that it is difficult to get anything done. This model has tons of upgrades and available and can be as powerful as you want it to be. It is infinitely better than their Inspiron Models – I think the Latitude series of the equivalent of a Dell Business series. The multimedia buttons at the top make it very easy to configure the sound quickly and easily. The screen brightness can be adjusted easily and the sound is louder than on most of the other Dell machines. A great machine all the way around.
