A Solid Workhorse, But Not a Racehorse

Date of Review:  Sep 3, 2007
The Bottom Line: A solid work laptop.
Review: By no means am I a computer expert. Still, I've gone through my share of PCs and laptops since I got my very first home computer way back in 1994, and I'd like to think that I know a few things about them. Because of that, I end up doing a lot of...

Review: Dell Latitude D620

The most common question I encounter is which Dell laptop to buy – Inspiron or Latitude. The Inspirons, with their low price, dedicated graphics option, loaded with multimedia features, targets the home, small business...

A capable notebook

Date of Review:  Jan 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: A nice light business notebook with a few non-fatal flaws.
Review: Memory upgrade[Update December 2007]
Replaced the DELL 2 512M DIMMs with third party OCZ memory, upgrading to 2 2G DIMMs to a supposed 4G system maximum. I was able to do so with a few complaints. The major concern is that the D620 makes only...

Newest Latitude makes a good first impression - Updated!

Date of Review:  Jun 3, 2006
The Bottom Line: The Latitude D620 is a sturdy, well designed machine that should satisfy the needs of most business users and compete well against machines from HP and Lenovo.
Review: After three months of owning the D620, I am happy to report that it is still running perfectly. A BIOS update has reduced some of the excessive heat that I reported before. Additionally, a change in the USB BIOS settings virtually eliminates the...

Perfect for work, great for home

Date of Review:  Dec 17, 2006
The Bottom Line: A good choice, as long as you don't need to play a lot of games on the go.
Review: I purchased my Dell Lattitude D620 almost six months ago, and shortly after that started deploying them at work. Overall, I had previously used a Dell Inspiron 600M (the home-equivalent of the Lattitude D600), and moved to the D620 after reading...

Solid in all ways

Date of Review:  Jul 27, 2006
The Bottom Line: A solid buy for the mobile user.
Review: I received the Latitude D620 as part of my scholarship package. Initially I was about to sell it since it came without a good dedicated graphics card option but I decided to keep it and save up for a gaming desktop. Anyways, I have been happy with...

Is the screen a "passive matrix"?

Date of Review:  Jul 17, 2007
The Bottom Line: Look elsewhere; you won't be able to see anything here. Not even worth what I paid for it: $0.00.
Review: I'm just glad that my employer gave it to me. It would have gone straight back to Dell if it were my money. My 1999 Apple Powerbook has a better screen--even after 7.5 years of almost daily use.

The D620's screen is abominable. About a...

Great Laptop if configured properly

Date of Review:  Jan 10, 2007
Review: I use this for work. I got this puppy fully loaded. It's a sound computer and it's fast. I would suggest that you go for the upgrade on the battery, only downfall is there will be a bar sticking out of the front of the laptop, looks like a hand rest...

Used the service plan 3 times now.

Date of Review:  Feb 18, 2008
The Bottom Line: It feels like I may have had bad luck, but I have had several problems. I would be reluctant to recommend this to a friend.
Review: I've had this laptop for 10 months now. It seemed very sturdy at first and I really like the touch pad and the cursor button. Those are absolutely necessary for me. The screen size is very good for a laptop and it is perfect weight for carrying...

Great for College Students

Date of Review:  Jan 5, 2008
The Bottom Line: Make sure you buy this and get extended battery and complete warrenty
Review: I bought this laptop when I went to college and had this laptop for about 1 1/2 years. I got a great deal from college that led to a full loaded laptop with 4 year complete warranty for only 1300 (original price 2000+).

The specs for this...
