Great deal for a great portable computer
Date of Review: Apr 10, 2007
The Bottom Line: This PDA would be good for anyone. It is easy-to-use yet can easily be configured with your email, download a few games, map/gps tools...
I was unsure if I should buy a Dell or go with a different brand. So far I am glad I went with the Dell.
If you have ever tried using the internet on a phone this will be a big upgrade for you. The screen doesn't look all that big but compared to a phone it is much bigger.
I haven't had any problems with it so far. It runs well and the battery life is about 4 hours running it full-bore. Pretty good battery life IMHO.
Contrary to one of the nutty reviews the wireless internet is VERY easy to use. It is as easy as the click of a button or two. Not sure how much easier that can get.
It will automatically list local connections in your area as they are detected and will try and connect. If it is password protected it will ask you for the pass and you can login. It is fairly easy. You can easily connect to wifi at hotels or libraries.
Very easy to setup the email and use it. You can configure outlook to get your email and then download it and put it into your pc/laptop at home when you are done.
The PDA is easy to hold and very-light-weight(well it should be for something that small). You can even use your fingers to press buttons on the screen although a HIGHLY recommend you buy a stylus. It gets fingerprints on it if you use your fingers. The pda comes with a wooden stylus however it is flimsy and easily broken. I suggest buying a metal one or you can even use the end of a pen(not the point)
The only other problem I had was that i couldn't get Java to work. Maybe I didn't do it right but I couldn't get java to work and some files I downloaded which were supposed to be compatible with pdas didn't work. Not sure why
