My grandfather is up on all the new technology and purchased a dell axim for me this past summer, for school in the fall. Being a student it was really helpful for me to use. It helped me organize my schedule, and remind me of things I had to do, and places I had to be.
It has everything I need on it, all it needs is a phone and a camera and it would be the perfect portable media device! It has Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, and Excel, which is perfect for projects I have to do and present.
The only thing is that you can compose powerpoints and sharts using the powerpoint program, or excel. Only on the Micrsoft Word can you compose documents.
It includes Bluetooth and wireless connection to the internet. I love being able to go to libraries, or coffee places, and connect to the internet. The Dell Axim also includes Windows Media Player. Since there is an SD card slot, I am able to store tons of music on the deivce. I don't have and iPod, but I don't need one now.
The battery doesn't last as long as I would like for it to, but it charges up pretty fast. It has a car charger that you can purchase, so that makes it better.
This is the perfect device for a student, or even a business person. It's a bit expensive, but it is definitely worth it!
