Jolly Ranchers in a Bottle

The Bottom Line: Tastes just like Liquid Jolly Ranchers, straight from the bottle!!
While I am a social drinker, I hate the alcohol taste of some beverages so it is with great relief that I stumbled upon DeKuper's Sour Apple Puckers (and now Sour Watermelon).
The Beginning
I was searching for something inexpensive to take to a friend's party. I knew there would be several attending, and several of these friends would not bring their own booze (dontcha just hate that)...hence, I was searching for something I could get a decent buzz off of, in one bottle format, without a nasty hangover.
I happened to stumble across a middle aisle display of DeKupyer's Sour Apple Puckers. The price looked good to me, on sale for $7.99 a bottle.
The strange green liquid seemed a little odd, but the label did say Green Apple. The clerk was no help, saying they had just gotten the product in.
I figured for only $7.99, I could mix it if nothing else, and if I didnt like it, I could give it to the moochers.
The Taste Testing
Since I was not designated driver, and I could not wait to get to the party, I opened the bottle up in the car to try a little sip.
I was pleasantly suprised in the smoothness of the taste. This bottle was warm, and it did have a slight burning taste as most schnapp's do, but I found it was smooth enough to drink straight from the bottle.
After my sip, I couldnt help but compare it to a Green Apple Jolly Rancher with a punch.
My other buddies who do not prefer sweet alcohol, were not nearly as thrilled with it as I was, which was fine by me, since I had decided to not share at this point.
Conclusion
Since that first time, when looking for an inexpensive drink, I have always picked up DeKupyer's Sour Apple or now new Sour WaterMelon Schnapps.
I have found that with a splash of Tequila, the Schnapps does lose it's sour first taste, the Tequilla seems to smooth it down moreso.
And if you are a light drinker, the drunkenness will sneak up on you before you realize it.
But this is one drink that can be drunk straight out of the bottle or chilled, it tastes great either way.
