Pros:  Price Performance Power Looks Remote bass gain controller

Cons:  Amp control could be better Cheap plastic molding on front and back

The Bottom Line:  The 1100D is the sensible mid budget choice, It looks classy and understated... but every one knows and respects the 1100D

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

The 1100D is a sensible choice, it is a very popular amplifier that can deliver, as the name says 1100watts RMS @ 1ohm. You have to be careful when purchasing subwoofer(s) to run on the directed, because most subs are 4ohm, so two subs produce a 2ohm load to the amp and thus the 1100d only makes around 500-550watts RMS. really you want a DVC (dual voice coil) sub with each coil at 2ohm. I am using an Audiobahn AWISD12 Immortal subwoofer with that exact set-up and so it looks like a 1ohm load to the amp. I found compaired to other makes of digital bass amps the Directed had a limited range of control, however it is much cheaper than any of the big brand 1ohm stable digital amps. Don't think that makes it worse, i have found it very good to work with and it sounds awesome. Where it is a Class D amp it is also quite small for the power it generates, about half the size of the Directed A/B 4channel amp i also use. 4 guage cable is a must, this amp loves eating power and so i suggest a 1.5 or 2.0 farrad cap be used with it. Directed also do a range of fitting accesories to make your install look all the more better.
