DeLonghi DE400P Dehumidifier

I bought this a year and half ago at Home Depot. It has worked great in my basement and you could feel the difference right away. I liked the fact the pump automatically emptied the water and I didn't have to remove and discard any water. The unit had a very long hose for draining. I liked the fact on the display that I could set it for what humidity percentage I wanted and I could see what percentage my room was currently. One of the bad things was if your power went off and when the power came back on the unit came back on without the pump. The other thing that I found difficult was getting the water bin back into the unit. The pump sensor was a little touchy and would think the bin wasn't in and would not let me select pump.

Unfortunately over the weekend and error code appeared on the display. I found out the unit has 1 year warranty and if I wanted to get it fixed I would have to ship to a service center since there isn't one in my area. I wished I would have bought the extended warranty at Home Depot. When I go buy my next one I will do that and I would recommend that to anyone else.

I would buy another DeLonghi unit, but I will buy the stores warranty.
