First season was better
Pros:
Entertaining, well taken, nice special effects
Cons:
Too far-fetched, slightly gloomy, several loose ends
The Bottom Line:
Anyone interested in Sci/Fi may find this a worthwhile watch. Others will probably be turned off by the unbelievability of the show.

Author's Review
Dark Angel - Season 2 is a continuation of Dark Angel - Season 1.
It may be necessary to read a review of the first season in order to be able to understand this review.
The second season of Dark Angel begins with Max's renewed stay (or perhaps imprisonment is a better word) at Manticore, after being captured at the end of season one. Experiments are now being conducted to find out whether the offspring of transgenics inherit the enhanced abilities of their parents.
Max manages to escape again, this time destroying Manticore and freeing all the transgenics. She meets up with Logan Cale, only to find that Manticore has introduced into her a virus that attacks his specific DNA, making physical contact between the two of them impossible.
That is the least of her worries, however. Several of the 'older' transgenics contain animal DNA to such an extent that they do not look like humans. This causes panic among the 'normal' humans, as they suddenly encounter creatures with animal-like appearance and capabilities. In addition, all the escaped transgenics are being hunted down and killed by the government. Max undertakes the task of protecting her 'siblings' from Manticore, while trying to stay alive herself.
All in all, Max has a lot on her plate during season 2. It would have been nice if some of her problems were solved for once, but the series ended with the second season, leaving many unanswered questions and unresolved issues.
1. She never finds her mother, whom she searched for (for one episode only) in the first season.
2. She doesn't find her 'best friend' Jondy.
3. She doesn't find a permanent cure for the virus she carries.
4. We never learn why Max was considered to be special among the transgenics, other than that she was created without any junk DNA.
These are a few of the loose ends that should have been tied up before the series came to an end.
In conclusion:
The show is amusing, although it has a dark 'feel' to it. It is well-acted, but it becomes extremely unrealistic at times (genetic enhancement is believable to a certain extent, but not to the extent portrayed in the show).
