Not the prettiest shoe, but so very comfortable!!!

I have to admit that when I first was introduced to Dansko shoes, I thought that they were the single-most ugliest shoes I had ever seen. They reminded me of something Frankenstein would wear. Big, chunky and slightly European looking. Little did I know that these would become the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned!

Dansko shoes in the popular Professional style are perfect for any lifestyle! These handcrafted shoes are designed around Dansko's foot-friendly rocker bottoms for the ultimate in comfort. One thing I've noticed is that some of the styles tend to run a bit small (ie: the professional) so you may want to double check your size and not assume that since you normally wear an "XYZ" that you will fit into the same size Dansko shoe. Speaking of shoe sizing, please remember that since these shoes are made in Portugal and Denmark, they are sized in European sizes and they do not come in half sizes as American shoes do. It would be best to check with the Dansko website at www.Dansko.com and double check their sizing chart. Quite frequently they recommend you either size up or down dependent on the cut of the shoe.

I've grown to love Dansko shoes. they come in all styles for men, Women and Kids...from the popular Professional style to Oxfords and Mary Janes. They offer many different collections ranging from the Dankso Sport with the non slip rubber soles (which are more suited for rugged, wet terrain) to the Paddock Collection, perfect for the equestrian in your family. The sandals in the spring/summer collections are fun, comfortable and practical and come in a variety of colors in their breathable leather. The shoes are available in all different styles and leather, and the dyes used in the shoes are all natural vegetable dyes (veg-tan).

Many popular leather styles are available with the "Cabrio" being one of the most popular. The "Cabrio" is a dressier style of leather where the leather is dyed through, coated with a top coat, then brushed off to show the color beneath and give a high gloss shine. There is also the "Box" leather which is best for greasy or wet environments as they are easy the easiest leather to maintain, and can be wiped clean with soap and water. The "Nubuck" is the softest of the leathers and has a silky sueded feel. The "Oiled" leather has the same silky sueded feel as Nubuck, but with more oil tanned into the leather. Natural blemishes are slightly more visible in this style and give a more broken in look/rugged appearance. There are many other leather finishes from simulated Croc & Snakeskin to faux fur...

You might be put off at first by their appearance, but beleive me...once you wear Dansko, you'll never go back to regular shoes!
