Author's Review
i would do just about anything to get out of doing my laundry at the laudromat. it was inconvient, i had to work my time around their hours, and basically it would ruin my day. i considered just moving to a place with a washer and a dryer or with the hookups, but none of which really suited my price range, or the neighborhood sucked, so i moved toward another option.
i had before bought a smaller hand operated "power wash" (which you may or may not remember from late night television infomercials) that completely disappointed me in every aspect. I then considered just buying a small portable washing machine.
I did my homework and researched many washing machines greatly.
I was orginally going to get a 4.9 pound Haier model.
I soon changed my mind after reading Haier horror stories, and decided it would just be best to avoid Haier all together.
Although I had never heard of Danby before, it seemed like a reputible brand.
Every review i read on this washer was excellent, and not one horror story.
I also researched some of their other appliances, and the reviews were comperable.
i then decided to spend the extra $100-150 to get a quality washer.
I'm now glad that i did.
All the reviews were right!
i got it out of the box and was using it in 20 minutes
it was alot larger than i thought it would be...
about and tall as a regular washer and a little smaller in width and depth.
It washes clothes great ( just dont put too much detergent in, especially on the economy load, because it only rinses once)
Spin cycle really gets most of the water out of clothes.
I usually just hang my cloths on a rolling rack or a drying rack that i own, and almost everything is dry in a couple of hours.
im really really happy with my purchase and i just wanted everyone to know.
I will keep everyone updated!
Update:
Well here it is.
After 5 months of religious washing, it just started leaking yesterday out of the bottom. I'm not sure exactly where it is coming from. It seems to be leaking when it fills and when it empties. I'm calling the appliance place that Danby recommended on Monday. It is still under warranty for about 10 more months so hopefully it is covered.
Update on the Update:
So the service tech came out the same day I called and said the intake hose was just a little loose because it had been pressed up against the counter.
I thought I tried that, but oh well.
It works now and I still love it for making my everyday life easier!
