Author's Review
I bought the Danby Model #DDW1805W, and after testdriving it for two years, it has given excellent service, 0 problems. For my slightly-larger-than-galley style kitchen, the hose and electrical cord are more than ample in length, and the faucet adapter has lasted problem free.
I've settled on the regular cycle - about 90 minutes, including the drying time - and it can tackle the toughest dried on sauces. I've also packed the silverware holder in a nearly obscene manner, and every piece comes out clean. I find the cycle noisy, in my 1200 S.F. home, but it doesn't override my TV volume, and so it's tolerable.
The adjustable bottom rack is perfect for accomodating larger bowls, while still leaving room for dinner plates. You'll toy with the adjustable racks, getting them to do what you want.
I have soft water, so I don't use the salt storage option in the bottom of the dishwasher, but it's a handy and thoughtful thing for Danby to include for those who might need it. I'm faithful to use the rinse aid, and I've never used anything but Cascade as my detergent.
My highest recommendation: If this one gives up the ghost, I'll buy another Danby! I love it.
I paid $400 total, including delivery to my back door, from Walmart.
