Don't buy Dacor

Date of Review: Aug 6, 2008

We spent more than $3000 for a beautiful Dacor oven nearly 10 years ago that we hardly use--about once a week. Yet the igniter in the oven burns out every few years and replacement costs 10% of the cost of the oven. The company basically told us to drop dead--"the oven is only built to last 10 years, so you did ok." We were replacing an inexpensive oven that was 25 years old and never had a problem (but was 'old fashioned'--non electronic, etc.). In our second residence we replaced a 40-year-old oven with a $500 GE that never needs fixing.
