Compact and Solid

Although not yet "battle tested," I am impressed with the sturdiness of this crib. After shopping long and hard for a crib with a smaller profile (no room for sleigh beds in our nursery), I settled on the Roxanne. Assembly was not terribly difficult, although there were a few head-scratching moments. It is assembled with bolts, so the pieces come together tightly and the finished product is very sturdy. Sure it is soft pine and may take a dent or two, but the construction itself is quite solid. The drop-side is smooth and pretty quiet, and the mattress support is a really sturdy, adjustable metal frame.

However, I cannot say the same for their matching case pieces. We also purchased the 3-drawer changer and have been disappointed from day one. That piece is assembled with cam-locks and the whole thing gives the impression that you could shake it apart. Further, both of these items ship directly from (and are warrantied by) Million Dollar Baby. MDB has never responded to any of my emails or phone calls (dresser was shipped without some hardware and with some faulty hardware) and have been very slow in correcting their mistakes. Fortunately for me, the company from whom I purchased the duo (SimplyBabyFuriture.com) served successfully as my arbitrator. Make sure you buy from someone who is willing to do the same for you, as you will not likely be successful in fighting these battles on your own.
