by   wmcot ,  Jun 15, 2008
Pros: Solid, reliable, compact, a good value, progressive scan output
Cons: Progressive scan can fool you on a regular TV (read review.)
The Bottom Line: The Samsung DVD-V5000 is better built than those "bargain" brands that you'll throw away in a fe months.

by   jbdave ,  Jun 28, 2007
Pros: Combo
Cons: Loading trays malfunction.

Samsung combo broken again!

by   larsch ,  Nov 19, 2006
Pros: Easy set-up, adequate features, decent picture quality -- positive experiences with Samsung's customer service
Cons: Continually breaks - unusable!
The Bottom Line: Appeared on the surface to have some good features, but broke quickly and repeatedly. A lemon or an overall bad product???

Pros: NONE
Cons: Has great difficulty playing many DVD's that other players have no trouble with.
Review: We purchased two of these units about a year ago. Both have difficulty playing DVD's that our other two Sony DVD players have no problem with. So the kids wind up watching "our set" because they can't play their work out videos and other store bought ...
