Great product

The Bottom Line: Good deal! CircuitCity.com had a special for $225 and free shipping (or $10 for air). Better than the Wal-mart price of $300.
Review: My first DVD Recorder. TV programming is more enjoyable for being able to skip the commercials and jump over the boring bits. I just tape several programs, then view the interesting parts.

You can watch while recording, so start watching...

False Advertising - Cannot Record 16 Hours

The Bottom Line: If you plan to record multiple programs and have them available on a single disc, purchase a DVR with a hard drive instead.
Review: Panasonic's advertising and information on the box says "Records 16 Hours!" That sounded just right for me. I normally record the news, Jay Leno, and Conan every day (plus a few other programs now and then).

Awesome for the $200 price range!

The Bottom Line: For $500 and up, go with a hard-disk-based DVR/DVD recorder; until those come down to the $200 price range, I'll be sitting fat & happy with the Panasonic DMR-E55!

The Bottom Line: There is new technology about to be released which should last longer than that used in the DMR-E55. Pay the extra or go for a PC based entertainment system.
