Not exactly a steal

My new husband and I put this Cuisinart coffee grinder on our wedding registry. Overall, it does its job, but there are a few things about it that bug me. First, as another reviewer mentioned, the metal screws in the cover are already rusty. That fact doesn't concern us too much, because they don't come into contact with the coffee, but it doesn't look nice and makes us question the quality of the product. In our registry search, we found many grinders that were less expensive, but we chose this one because it was part of the Cuisinart line -- a brand we respected. (Notice, I said "respected." All of our kitchen electrics are Cuisinart and most of them aren't stellar.)

The second problem we have with the coffee grinder is that it takes forever to grind the beans to the desired consistency and somehow while most of the coffee has been ground well, we sometimes find full beans when we pour the coffee in the filter.

The best features of the coffee grinder are that it is relatively painless to clean and that the design is so attractive. Those aren't enough to keep us in the Cuisinart camp the next time we're in the market for a new grinder, though.
