My carpet feels new again!

I bought my Dyson on Woot about a year ago. Frankly I had given up on vacuums but because these had such a good reputation I went ahead and purchased one.

This particular one is more towards the bottom of their line but I did some research before I bought it and found out that they all have the same amount of suction. Because I didn't care about all the extras I went ahead and bought this model. I can't even describe how wonderful this vacuum is.

The time night I vacuumed I had so much dirt sucked out of my carpet that I actually weighed it. I had to empty the canister over 3 times. Now when I vacuum I usually only have to empty it once. As I vacuumed I noticed that my carpet even felt different. It felt like new carpet. It is a killer on pet hair which is handy when the dog is shedding.

I have tried it on bare floors and if works but carpet is defiantly where it performs it's best. I am seriously disgusted every time I use it because of all the dirt it picks up. One time I just used it to clean the base boards with one of it's attachments and I was amazed at how much dirt it picked up.

There is a max amount of dirt the container can hold but even when it is close to full it still has the same amount of suction it does when it is empty. The container works like a trap door where there is a trigger you pull and all the dirt falls out the bottom. This is nice because I don't have to touch anything dirty but it can send up a puff of dirt when you put it in the garbage. The nice thing about not having a bag is if I accidentally vacuum up something I shouldn't it is easier to dig out.

The cord is really long which I appreciate. One feature that could be considered annoying is the tubing for the extension wand. It compacts down into the back of the vacuum which is great because you have a long hose to work with but it sometimes wants to recoil back into the back of the vacuum causing the vacuum to want to tip over. Using the wand is really easy however and the attachments slide on very easy and are very secure when attached to the side of the vacuum for storage.

I would say that the weight of this vacuum and noise level of this vacuum are both average.

Since owning this vacuum I have convinced my friend to buy one as well and she is very happy with hers as well.
