Dyson bagless vacuum

I purchased this vacuum 3 years ago when we moved into our new home and have had no problems with it. It's a little pricey, but worth it! I've cleaned houses for about 10 years and have tried out a variety of vacuums. I like the Dyson because it does both carpeting and bare floors equally well. We have two dogs and a cat and the Dyson does a great job of picking up all of the pet fur. I like that the hose attachment is easy to pull out, use and put back. It's all part of the unit, no wrapping and unwrapping of the hose involved. The unit has the ease of use of an upright with the hose attachments for stairs and crevices/ceilings. The hose stretches out far enough to reach the top step with the vacuum placed at the bottom of the steps. The vacuum is also nicely designed so that it won't flip over when the hose is being used-I've used a few vacuums that flip over and its very frustrating! I also like that there are no bags or filters to purchase. I just wash the two filters out with water every few months and it works fine. The cord on the dyson is nice and long. Although they could have made it a little thicker-it has a tendency to get curled up-arghhh! The under bed attachment for the vacuum is probably something you could do without. I only used it one time and wasn't that impressed. The vacuum does a good job on the carpets, although I don't think the beater bar is as powerful as some other vacuums. I have lower pile carpets, so it isn't a big deal for me. The Dyson is a good value for the money.
